Great improvisational piece! The auditory environment is rich with emotion and well mixed. The effect is calming.

One of the reasons I started uploading music was because musicians had their older works up, and when I listened to their new stuff, I felt intimidated. It made me not want to make music because I didn't think I could ever get to that level. You play guitar a lot better than I can, and I wish I could play as well as you do. However, the mixing is off, which already shows you have a very high starting point.
I really appreciate and am thankful that you have your older songs up. You deserve a tremendous amount of respect for having the confidence in people to see how you've progressed and evolved as a passionate and kind artist.
You can tell me if my reviews are pretentious and obnoxious, though I feel I'm sharing my perspective because perhaps you would like to know. You do have a good atmosphere going on. I listened to your full song multiple times, and I thought the experience was atmospheric, though I was a bit dozed off by the lack of auditory progression.
Overall your song from 2008 is still good.
Amazing episode! There were lots of great discussions about experiences at art school and many philosophical discussions about art, which were very interesting, especially when it was put into perspective that animation is teamwork-based. I am less skeptical of art school now that I have listened to the perspective that was shared by Danny.
The discussion and philosophy of living, getting to the perspective of not seeing yourself as you do the work, and not being focused on trying to control the bigger picture, but rather on doing the work, as well as talking about living a life opposite to narcissism and getting rid of the self-centered mentality, and focusing on doing good work, was a good talk.
Strange of May 1, 2024 - The episode is just titled Episode 165 - There are no information and links in the Author Comments, I find this strange; there must be an addition that will be added later. Perhaps there is something that I am missing, though most crucially, the audio is here and fully functional.
Technically, this episode is for next week. We upload an episode one week early for a our patreon supporters, but we're still figuring out a system for Newgrounds. It'll be updated by tonight so you can follow/support the guest of this episodes!
Super Happy Birthday to Tom!
The song has great energy and powerful vocals. There's a lot of variation in the soundscape, making it a well-structured composition with well-defined, balanced, and organized strong tonalities that contribute to a high-intensity environment. Excellent teamwork!
Thank you! The whole project really came as a shock, more so than usual even. I feel like @SkankyMojo was the glue that tied it all together, the secret sauce. Without him it'd just be another unfinished project, or lyric files sitting in the corner waiting for an inspired beat! He did a fantastic job with the chord progression and bridge, which exceeded both of our expectations. Really floored me the first time I heard it and is still my favorite part of the song!
Absolutely true that the production pipeline for podcasts can get quite convoluted when there's a whole bunch of stuff happening, and it's awesome that Loic is on the podcast. He has a great personality, amazing skill, dedication, and appreciation for art that is very nice. I am always surprised by how many amazing artists there are creating amazing work. I was sad to hear that he made two hundred illustrations for a board game and then, due to internal politics, the board game was not released. That is very upsetting, as well as his comic, due to a similar type of incident.
I would like to say that sending voice messages to people is a good idea. I feel that gives a great sense of the personality of the person you're talking to, but 22 minutes of just rambling is difficult to pay attention to, especially for a Zoomer such as myself!
The way that I primarily interact with my friends a lot of the time is by using the PM system on Newgrounds. I write long messages with lots of detail. I also use Discord for communication a lot because that's how I voice chat, and the subject matter is 90% always about something creative! currently.
Yes, I have traveled a lot. I have been to England, and I am going to fly to the Newgrounds Dublin Meetup 2024 in Ireland for the Pico Day meetup that is happening on May 18th. That's the first time I will be at a NG meetup!
Terry, you are a great animator, a great person, a great listener.
You are awesome. The skill, dedication, and passion you have for expression are extremely humbling to witness. Your ability to appreciate art and give artists honest and sincere appreciation is deeply admirable. Thank you so much for starting conversations, and listening to awesome artists.
Pedro Medeiros has some of the best pixel art tutorials I've ever seen!
I'm extremely happy to hear about Medeiros' experiences with creating amazing pixel art and his journey and advice. I really appreciate his advice on creating mock-up game scenes!
An amazing artist with great passion and lots of respect for the arts, and we are all so lucky for his interest in expressing and creating games. It is so true that it's easy to neglect technical skill and the power that giving a bit of curiosity to see what craftsmanship and being inspired by different types of art and creating more unique games instead of just trying to do the same thing that everybody else is doing, which is just going to feel dated. But what's not going to feel dated is passion, expression, and telling a story that resonates with oneself. That takes a lot of strength, the willingness to be vulnerable in art.
Thank you so much, Medeiros! Absolute Legend.
Wow! What a great message to read. Thank you so much for the kind words to me and Pedro. Appreciate you tuning in a lot! I'm very happy I got to come on your show as well. Best!
Wow, absolutely excellent! Thank you so much for sharing your experiences!
It's extremely nice to hear about what it's like to delve into the professional world of animation and art. I have heard advertising is a great avenue for creatives, much more comfortable working conditions than in media. Though that is just what I've heard second hand, I don't know what the experience is like. I've heard so many positive things about advertising. All places are different! Perhaps that proves that sometimes the obvious answer isn't always the best one. People should recognize that there are many places where they can be creative and express themselves, even if it's not their first thought or what they originally wanted to do. It's better to think that the process of wanting to be creative should be the goal rather than wanting to get a position.
Pat Kain @batstains - Thank you so much for sharing your amazing insights into what it's like working in animation! Superjail! Is amazing. It's true that the series is quite intense! And I also feel that after watching one episode, I need to rest because there is so much going on. I can't think of many shows that exhibit the same quality of being so full of action that I have to take a rest from it. That is extremely impressive to achieve such a high level of creativity that then needs time to process all of that information given. That is a testament to the substantial level of energy that is communicated. It is a roller coaster of craziness!
The story of how he got into that position by emailing the creator and then having a five-minute meeting to see if he was not a weirdo was fascinating. Learning to do clean-up on the job must have been quite scary. Perhaps that confidence is easy to lose over the years as more thoughts and experiences happen. The realization that more things can go wrong could be a contributing factor to changing the perspective of not being able to bullshit as well.
I deeply appreciate and am really thankful for the raw and honest sharing of experiences regarding how these producers take advantage of young animators and their passion for profit. It was really upsetting to hear the story of how, in the beginning of the podcast, Vee talked about being in a conference where an animator was sharing the experience of having to redo a scene they knew did not work, and then to prove that it didn't work.
And of course, the producer scrapped that scene because it didn't work, and the animators knew that. They knew the scene didn't work, yet they did not listen, and yet they still wanted to see the result of that. That is very annoying!
And the live-action people didn't have to do something like that; they could choose to just say no, and then they got their wish. It's sad to see that there isn't the same level of respect from producers towards animation as there is towards live-action because if they were equal, they would understand how difficult it is, which is very upsetting.

I wanted to joke about something related to Ohio, literally in Ohio! But I guess that's already extremely unfunny, even though I laughed thinking about it. Perhaps I am too mentally incapacitated. I really enjoy when artists share their honest experiences, especially when it is about something negative or positive or something they are passionate about, because I feel there's a lot of dishonesty regarding the hard realities of working in media and how tough and difficult it is.
But you will absolutely meet amazing people along the journey, and it's important to appreciate them. There are always going to be bad people, but what is important is the process of how to handle the negative emotions and how to deal with negative people you meet, and make sure they don't win over you by taking over your emotions.
Josh Abatecola @guyfromKillerRAT is insightful. I feel that his perspective on: GG Allin; instead of trying to be offensive, is expressing himself, even if it's with smashing his head with his microphone and defecating on stage. It's still better than most pop musicians.
Regarding Toaster Love and Furry Avore (Vore Request), I was surprised by how funny the songs sound. I actually thought they were quite good with interesting backstories as well.
I'm happy Josh's music is still available, and the fact that I got the opportunity to listen to You too talk. Is amazing!
But when will the transcription be added? Does that need to be a transcription?
Lots of good talks about the backstory of his songs were very interesting. You asked really good questions, and I appreciate the fact that you listened and valued the information that was given. You showed interest, and that means a lot. The respect you showed for his craft is very nice, and the atmosphere of the conversation was great.
@Cyberdevil How did you decide to create interviews? I would say it sounded very professional and extremely well-made.

Now, what I've done some research GG Allin did admit to rape people on Jerry Springer. His birth name is Jesus Christ Allin. He has undoubtedly done vile actions. I have read on a Reddit the most trustworthy source, there is a lot of false information about him, though even if 5% of it is true, then he is still gross. And dead.
Perhaps someone can explain the sources and what actually happened.
But he is very much dead and he may rest in piss, literally people were pissing on his grave. It's still better than most pop musicians.

Thank you @guyfromKillerRAT you are right. That is his main selling point as an artist, it's pretty difficult to completely blame him for acting inappropriately, if that is a large component of his performance. If the man who is known for throwing poopsie surprises at the crowd is doing something awful, I don't think people should be surprised. That is true, we don't know what type of activities he got up to, when no cameras were around.
That he is! Ah GG Allin... didn't recall him being referenced here. Was reading up on his story just recently. Expressing yourself - no matter how extreme said forms of expression may be - is fine by me, but raping and hurting others in the process of expressing yourself... his path seems a more questionable one to me after recent research. Maybe I'm reading the wrong sources.
It really was a grand debut, and Josh still is making music if you want to check out the new stuff!
The transcription thing's still in my bookmarks. XD I tried running the audio file through an automatic service to get that, but it didn't work so well, requires a looot of manual adjustments, still do plan to get to this eventually it's just way back on the backburner now.
Appreciate the commentary Aalesteir, and glad you enjoyed this! The incentive's all thanks to Josh actually. :) Personally I'm not super proud of my interview tone, I get unreasonably jittery and/or silent with any kind of directed speaking, but it was a good experience! Glad we got it out there; hopefully it helped sell a record or two too. :P
When it comes to GG Allin "raping" people. It's really a "yes and no" kind of topic. The only "raping" he did that we actually know has taken place was him sexually assaulting fans at his shows, for example, shoving a woman's head onto his genitalia. Yes, this would count as rape seeing as it was a forceful action on someone unsuspecting, however, once it happens at his shows enough times (and becomes one of his main selling points as an artist), you couldn't call yourself a rape victim anymore if you went to GG show and it happened to you - you knew it was likely to happen, you know he does it every time and that's his main appeal. You indirectly asked for it by that point. HOWEVER, for it to become commonplace, he had to do it for the first time at some point. In that scenario, the person likely had no idea it was coming. So yes, he is a rapist in some capacity. We don't really know what he did when there were no cameras around.
Thank you!
@Cyberdevil You're really good at making reviews. I'd like to be more like you and also get into the practice of making reviews and sharing how I feel about the projects people have made. You have a great voice and I feel that you are extremely articulate. I absolutely love Better Than the Book as well. @Jabun is an amazing musician! As well as being an amazing person! Meteor Shower is a great song with strong energy.
It's really annoying that there were people who deleted your submissions because they were unkind and didn't like you. Having so many deletions for such a reason seems very stupid. That simply creates a bad environment for everybody because we are all here to have fun, and it's not cool to act like that. If the administration gave me a message like the one you got, I would be upset and I would have beef too. It's good you got support from the administration when your account got hacked the second time.
You are right, stuff like that is luckily a lot less common because NewGrounds now has much better security. I feel most people, if they got hit with those attacks, would not be able to withstand that as well as you did. I really appreciate you sharing those experiences, as they can be difficult because they are quite negative, though it is immensely good that you do because it gives a good perspective of what it was like in 2009.
It's very sad because a lot of people have a negative view of NG because of rude people like that back in the day who would just cause trouble and be really unpleasant. I'm happy that users now are much kinder, and the veteran users understand the power of kindness and how it creates a better environment for all to be in.

Motherload is absolutely a classic. Skye Boyes proved that amazing games can be made. I am very sad that he passed away. He was an amazing artist, one of the greatest Flash developers who ever lived. Even an absolute cunt like me can recognize that.
Hell yeah! @ChazDude great sense of comedy, great creativity, and a level of dedication, passion that deserves all the respect. The Soviet Onion! I wish my dreams were like that instead of being just horrific nightmare stay out at least funny horrific nightmares.
@Little-Rena is the founder of @SoupSquad there's one about Pico tasting soup that is definitely impactful with themes!

@littlbox @GoodL thank you for creating the episode. You make a great team. It's super awesome to have Weird Al as the first concert experience, and it's awesome that he also came to Sweden.
I'm aware that there's not going to be a season 3, but a spin-off about cuckolderie, I would say, that would be quite epic. You could advertise that on Reddit; you would get all the upvotes!
Thank YOU! :)
