Who are NG meets for?

You should never attend a meet if it isn’t practical for you or if it’s going to cause a lot of stress, especially if you’re unsure how you’ll get back home.

What’s most important is arriving and leaving in a financially responsible and safe way. Set an alarm or have a set time to return, and be well prepared for when the event happens. It shouldn’t be stressful or difficult; it should be an enjoyable experience.

Recommendations:

Backpack, and a resealable bag where you can put people’s stickers or other small gift items like cards or pins. Every time I’ve been to a meet, there’s always people handing out stickers.

A sketchbook so people can draw in it. You could also buy a poster and have people draw something with markers on the back side, then hang it on your wall. There are a lot of options! You could even bring a t-shirt and let people use textile markers to draw on it, just make sure there's a place for the shirt to dry properly. Maybe use a permanent marker on something else, like a keyboard or a mouse, there are plenty of things people can draw on.

Optional:

You can create your own stickers and bring them to the meet. You could also do something else, like make a custom pin or something entirely different. There are so many options to consider. If you decide to bring something to give out to people at the meet, make sure to order it in good time in case there are delays with the package arriving.

It’s also an option to commission an artist to create a design for you to print and give out at the meet.

I arrived in London by plane.

27 June 2025

Went to The British Museum.

Had afternoon tea in The British Museum.

I asked in the server if anyone wanted to meet up, @QELINDENT said yes.

I was trying to go to Forbidden Planet, but I walked into the wrong store; Animetal.

At first, I thought it didn’t look like the right place, but then I saw a Street Fighter II cabinet and got distracted. Play that for a while as Ryu.

Also bought an officially licensed Yakul plushie from Princess Mononoke from there.

Later, Qelindent mentioned he was at Forbidden Planet, and when I realized I couldn’t see him, I knew I was in the wrong spot.

I walked out and went into Forbidden Planet, where we talked, and I bought a poster. Which I would kindly ask fellow NG users draw on the back so I could frame it on the wall with the backside and have a reminder of the meetup!

Qelindent and I walked around a bit more, and then we separated to get ready for tomorrow!

@MKMaffo give out smiley pins on the Dublin meet 2024, I had mine on my cool purse for London meet!

Met up with @Legolass and then later we went and met @ChazDude

We walked for about an hour to the Shoreditch Park Boulder, and sat on a bench. I went and got a chicken salad, but I got a free dessert first!

Later more people arrived for the meet!

Gave out my card and stickers to people on the meet. And received stickers and cards.

We all went to the venue.

Found @littlbox who is filming for his documentary!

Made a small appearance on the live stream.

@Snackers gave out posters and @HenryEYES gave out a head sculpture.

As well as giving out pizza to everyone!

Later, Legolas and I went home, he went to his hotel, and I went to mine.

Walked around, got some sightseeing in, saw Big Ben.

I asked in the server who wanted to meet up, and @matt-likes-swords said he could. Then I mentioned that I was at my hotel and realized @RGPAnims was staying at the same one. RGP/Ryan and l took the London Underground. Looking for Henry, qelindent, Imprez and Matt.

We met up with everybody.

Went to a bar.

I ordered shareable nachos for everyone and also asked for a glass of tap water for myself, which you can get for free.

We walked around, did talking and stuff. Concluded the day, Ryan and I walked back to the hotel.
