The ending actually was fine, it was the best they could pull off with wrong decisions made midway or even from the beginning. I guess they simply tried to add too much extra on a basic kaiju plot type.

AoT was a huge disappointment for me. They ruined it so much with the contradictory titan physiology explanation and stupid future-seeing stuff that just completely undermined the premise and spirit of like 2/3 of the story that far. And the only thing we got in return was ineffective "enemy for all" + "looping cycle of violence" tropes. A disappointment the size of colossus titan.
Alright, enough ranting. The interview is cool)
